Our Story
From a devastating loss to a mission-driven company protecting lumber fields across Scandinavia.
Born from Experience
In 2013 our founder, Sindre encountered his first wildfire in his neighbours forest, only 12 years old. It would take 12 more years before he began working on a solution.
The idea sprang out from a cooperation with Telenor and Lab5e during a group project at the university.
From there, three proficient members joined the team further developing the idea, into a product.
The Idea
Today fire monitoring in lumber fields are manual labour, there must be a better way!
Growing team
The fourth member joined the team. The company name Hauuk was decided.
Testing prototype
Deployed our first camera mast system in a test lumber field in Trondheim, Norway. Successfully detected and prevented 8/10 test fires within 60 seconds.
Rapid improvements
Integrated advanced machine learning algorithms, reducing false alarms by 95% and improving detection speed to under 30 seconds.
Rapid improvements
Now protecting over 50 lumber operations across Scandinavia with 99.9% uptime and zero catastrophic fire losses.
